Blog no. 41
Beulah Lucille “Lucille/Lucy” Warren was born on November 30, 1922, in Spring Hill, Williamson County, TN, to Ewell Franklin Warren and Vernett Chappell. She had five siblings.
For many years, Lucille was the owner and operator of the Hitch Inn Post on Main Street, in Spring Hill, TN. Many people can remember Lucille being a part of the Hitch Inn Post, remember a family member going there, or sometimes both. Lucille and William lived in a mobile home behind the establishment. The Hitch Inn Post was a business for decades until around the 1990’s. Since then, the Hitch Inn Post building has been the location of many things, like Hiller Plumbing Etc. and Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems. The building is today the Spring Hill Garden Center.
On March 11, 1964, In Robertson County, TN, Lucille married William Eugene Langley. They had no children.
Lucille owned the home at 1101 School Street, where her mother would later live and Lucille herself until her death. The home was built in about 1900 and still stands today. It is now used as the Sweet Peas Hair & Nail Salon.
Sadly, on January 31, 2000, in Williamson County, TN, Lucille died. She was buried at the Williamson Memorial Park cemetery.
Special thanks to Naomi Derryberry, Michael Langley, and Tiffany Jenks for providing me a picture of Lucille and for corrections to this blog!
