Mary Evelyn “Evelyn” Jones was born on February 9, 1926, in TN, to Dock Edward “Ned” Jones and Betty Jane Lunn. She had 6 siblings. 

Evelyn was married to James Bernard “Pete” Prince for 28 years until his death in 1971. They had 4 children, and their names were James Travis “Jimmy” Prince, Jerry Edward Prince, Betty (Prince) Cyphers Torcello, and Barbara (Prince) Harmon. She later married Marshall Alvin Hardison and was married to him for 27 years, until his death in 2000.

Evelyn was an original member of the Spring Hill, TN Genealogy Club and spent part of her time volunteering at the Maury County, TN Archives. She was a good friend of the Spring Hill Public Library. When the library and the Friends of The Spring Hill Library wrote the book Spring Hill Everybody Has a Story, she wrote a story in it on page 202. In her story, she talks about her parents, Lake Avenue, Marie Nellums, Dr. Tommy Kinnard and his wife Virginia, and the Ford Model T’s she remembered as a child.

Sadly, on March 30, 2009, in Maury County, TN, Evelyn died. She was buried at Jones Cemetery in Lasea, Maury County, TN.
