Blog no. 9
Lucille Mildred Fagala was born on February 13, 1915, in Jefferson County, TN to William Ponder Fagala and Jessie Love Snodgrass. She was one of many siblings.
Lucille married George William “G.W.” Bowman. They had 3 children, their names are: Robert, Thomas, and Jane. She and G.W. owned and operated Bowman’s Launderette & Car Wash which opened January 15, 1961. They moved the business from its original location in 1980 to across the street from its original location. This old business still stands with a different name in the town of Spring Hill, TN and still runs as a laundromat.
The Bowman’s were loved in the community of Spring Hill, TN. Lucille and G.W. We’re both historians of the city and were close to the Spring Hill Public Library. In Lucille’s obituary, it says she was one of the founders of the library.
Sadly, on January 25, 2002, in Spring Hill, TN, Lucille Mildred Bowman died. She was buried at Spring Hill Memorial Park in Spring Hill, TN. People in the city of Spring Hill, TN still remember Lucille Bowman as a good friend to this day.
Blog idea given by my friend, Janice Stanfill, from the Spring Hill Public Library.
